DEMAND OF VOTORANTIM METAIS (IN A PARTNERSHIP WITH SENAI CIMATEC AND EMBRAPII)
Acquisition of solid and liquid fuels from renewable origin with lower costs than the current
fossil fuels in use.
STUDIES
Studies were performed with the objective of adjusting Votorantim Metais’ boilers and thermal systems to a burning in cofiring (fossil fuels + biomass derived fuels).
RESULTS AND SOLUTIONS
Characterization and testing of new renewable fuels (see below) in demonstration plants to assess the replacement of current fossil fuels.
Liquid Standardized Biomass – LSB
to replace BPF and Diesel oil for heat generation
High-volatile coal – HVC
replacing the petcoke used in the generation of heat and synthesis gas
DEMAND OF SUZANO PAPEL E CELULOSE
The transformation of eucalyptus waste, via pyrolysis, for the production of renewable fuels and chemical inputs.
RESULTS AND SOLUTIONS
Pilot unit for pyrolysis of eucalyptus waste for the production of bio-oil, acid extract and charcoal briquettes for use as fuels and inputs in Suzano's cellulose production chain.
DEMAND OF CBA - COMPANHIA BRASILEIRA DE ALUMÍNIO
Cost reduction in the production of aluminum through the recycling of aseptic carton packaging.
STUDIES
Studies showed that by the process of low temperature pyrolysis, two other products were obtained besides aluminum: wax and charcoal.
RESULTS AND SOLUTIONS
The result of the job was the deposit, by both companies, of the patent application related to the pyrolysis technology for the recycling of aseptic carton packs.
DEMAND OF INSTITUTO SENAI DE INOVAÇÃO EM BIOMASSA
Aiming to meet the industry's demand related to waste management, SENAI was looking for technologies and solutions to perform pyrolysis and gasification tests.
RESULTS AND SOLUTIONS
Bioware was hired to design and build a flexible and completely customized plant that would serve the interests of SENAI. As a result, we provided a flexible pilot scale biomass volatilization system with fluidized-bed technology for pyrolysis and gasification processes.
DEMAND OF UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DO PAMPA
Industries in the coal sector, in the south region of the country, were looking for solutions to the production of synthesis and energy gases from coal. Unipampa was hired by these industries to set up pilot units for research in this area.
RESULTS AND SOLUTIONS
Bioware was hired by Unipampa to develop and build a pilot plant for research purposes.
